Samedi In The City
Today I got reacquainted with my fair city of New York. It's not easy to jump from living in one city to another, but it sure is stimulating. And it's important to appreciate the differences, and the beauties, in each. Something about New York I've always loved is its quirky uniqueness, its ability to hold so many different kinds of people on one little (pseudo-)island.
Today in New York I loved....
A creepy alleyway I went down to get a $40 massage that kicked my ass (in a good way).

Balloons adrift...

The sweet brutality, and brutal honesty of New York...

Wall murals that look like giant Rothkos...

Love Love Love all around...

Giraffe-like, model-gorgeous ladies strutting among us regular folk...

Randomity on the ground, like a handmade publicity poster...

... and even a mini-universe...

$2 retail therapy (thanks to the "Tired Of The Bullsh*t Sale")...

Organic food that is edible, and Sauvignon Blanc, and a Yankees commemorative glass...

This sign...

Washington Square Park, where there were pretty ladies amongst the pink flowers...

This Amazing Contortionist, wearing a dollar-sign suit that you could only get away with in New York...

A band that looked like they just got off a train from a farm in the South circa 1921...

An impromptu swimming party (because who needs permission/swimsuits when it's 90 degrees and Saturday?)...

A free therapist (and people using him!)...

And pieces of France, here and there.

Good to have a day to hang out with my old friend, NYC. Let's keep that ball rollin'.
love,
